About Us

Food Analysis and Research Laboratory (FARL) is a laboratory having ‘State of the Art’ testing facilities to provide reliable and accurate analytical services to the Food Processing Industries. It is a part of Centre of Food Technology, University of Allahabad and has been set up with the financial assistance of Ministry of Food Processing and Industries. The Centre of Food Technology is a centre under the Institute of Professional Studies established in the year 2000 by the University of Allahabad.The Central status to the University of Allahabad was restored by the Central University Act 2005. 

The FARL laboratory was granted NABL Accreditation on 9th July 2013, (ISO/IEC 17025:2005, General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories).  The scope of FARL includes chemical and biological testing of food and water. Laboratory is accredited for 20 parameters in chemical testing of food, 16 parameters for chemical testing of water and 3 parameters for biological testing.

The laboratory is committed to continual improvement of processes and services to achieve ongoing customer satisfaction by consistently complying with ISO/IEC 17025:2005 to ensure quality testing services and continually improve the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
