The world is facing an escalating challenge to meet accelerating demand driven by both increasing population and per-capita income growth for sustainable agriculture in the face of multiple constraints – climate change, human population pressure, local and global resource scarcity and ecosystem preservation. Stakeholders should recognize the linkages between poverty, hunger, agriculture, and nutrition and the enormous potential for cross-sector development approaches. Furthermore, our growing analytical understanding of entrenched inequality suggests that key populaons, particularly smallholder farmers and women are at the nexus of agriculture, nutrition & health and thus, critical drivers of inclusive growth. Conversely, they are challenged by the structural roots of poverty, hunger and malnutrition and likely to slow the realizaon of sustainable development if their critical role is unaddressed. The full economic, social and environmental benefits of sustainable agriculture can be best realized if policies are devised and implemented with the full participation of all stakeholders. Sustainable, nutrition-sensitive agriculture and food security policies will help to improve the availability and accessibility of nutritious food and promote healthy and sustainable diets and prosperity in rural areas. To meet the consumer expectations and food requirement of the increasing population, food industry needs ideas in the field of food processing, nutrition and agriculture sustainability to overcome these challenges. Considering the importance of the issue, Centre of Food Technology in Association with AFST(I) Allahabad Chapter announces, National Food Conferene (NFC-2018) on the theme “Agriculture and Technology Innovation for Nutritional Security” scheduled to be held on February 9 & 10, 2018 at Centre of Food Technology, University of Allahabad, Allahabad.


• To discuss the concerns in sustainable agriculture and food processing.
• To discuss the strategies and solutions for food and nutritional security.
• To discuss advances in post harvest and food processing.
• To confer the interdisciplinary approach of bio sciences and engineering in food technology.

THEME The conference invites food scientists, food technologists, nutritionists, dieticians, agricultural sciensts, food and nutraceutical industry personnel to present their novel concepts and advanced approaches on following thematic areas:

 Sustainable Agriculture for Food and Nutritional Security
 Post-harvest Technology and Emerging Food Processing Techniques
 Biosciences and Engineering: An Interdisciplinary Approach
 Advances in Food Safety and Food Authentication
 Public Health Nutrition
 Innovations in Food Supplementation for Undernourished Children.


Researchers, scientists, policy makers, academicians, and students are invited to submit an abstract on any of the conference themes or related areas. Abstract for oral and poster presentation not exceeding 250 words typed in English in a single paragraph in Times New Roman, font size 12 points, 1.5 line spacing are invited. The abstract should be sent only by e-mail to along with title of the paper, name of the author(s), and full address of correspondence including email and the name of presenting author should be underlined. The abstract should be sent along with registration fee details and abstract received after the due date will not be included in the Souvenir. The Scientific Commitee will review the abstract and notify the acceptance to the presenter. Guidelines for oral and poster presentation will be sent together with the acceptance notification.
